KARACHI – Pakistani blockbuster “The Legend of Maula Jatt” is finally set to hit the Indian cinemas in October this year.
The announcement was made via the film’s official Instagram page, stating as: “The Legend Of Maula Jatt’s legacy lives on! Catch the cinematic masterpiece in Indian theatres from 2nd October 2024. Book your tickets now!”
The film, featuring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, was initially slated to be released in the neighbouring country in December 2022. However, the release was postponed by the Indian authorities indefinitely, leaving fans upset.
The Lollywood’s iconic highest-grossing film directed by Bilal Lashari has registered record commercial success.
As per 2022 statistics, the Legend of Maula Jatt made $3.58 million at the domestic box office and $5.37 million internationally. With this new banging total, the movie becomes the first Pakistani film to have collect $8.95 million in collections.
For those unversed, the film is a reboot of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt starring Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Raheela Agha, Babar Ali, Saima Baloch, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyar Ejaz and Resham.
